How to load new software - Solitaire Turbo(tm)

Logicube will, from time to time, release updated versions of the
embedded operating software running on the Solitaire Turbo(tm).
 
You can tell which version is currently installed by hitting <About> on
the main screen, and scrolling until you see the software version.
 
1. Connect the Solitaire Turbo(tm) to a PC with the enclosed parallel port 
cable.

2. Make sure your PC's parallel port is set to the EPP mode. This is
usually achieved by entering the setup screen when the PC boots up.
Depending on the BIOS maker you will hit either F2 or the DEL key.
 
3. Boot the PC to MS-DOS, or open a DOS window under Windows95/98.
 
4. On the floppy that comes with Solitaire Turbo(tm), you will find two 
important files: update.exe and loader.h86.
 
5. Copy those files to your hard drive in the same directory where you
downloaded soli.h86. 

NOTE: The files from step 4 and the soli.h86 file MUST be copied to 
your hard drive prior to continuing. The floppy access time is too slow 
for the update operation to work successfully and therefore is NOT 
supported for this operation.
 
6. Run update.exe on the PC.
 
7. Power the Solitaire Turbo(tm) WHILE holding down the Start/Stop button. 
This will invoke the Solitaire Turbo(tm) setup program. (You can stop 
holding the Start/Stop button when the *Turbo Code Loader* screen appears.)
 
8. Press <Select> once and sit back. At this point the Solitaire Turbo(tm) 
loads loader.h86, which in turn loads soli.h86 into the internal flash memory.

9. When loading is done (in approximately 3 minutes), the Solitaire Turbo(tm) 
will automatically reboot and runs with the new version. Exit update.exe and 
disconnect the unit from the PC.

If for any reason you need to reload the original software you can copy 
the soli.h86 file from the floppy that came with your unit into the
directory you created above. Then repeat all the same steps from #1 above.
Your unit will now have the original software loaded on it.

Corrected a rare occurance where scaling down an NTFS partition caused the 
Target partition to become unbootable. Added an error message that comes up 
when the Master or Target drive has unsupported geometry.

Corrected a minor problem that can occur when cloning the bitmap of an NTFS 
partition. Added support for the optional alphanumeric keypad. Added further 
support for the DELL Utility Partition found on most DELL PC's.  The partition 
now comes up as DE on the Solitaire Turbo.

Added an explicit drive flush command prior to powering down drives after a 
clone.  This ensures that all cache data has been written to the Target drive.
Added support for powering the USB Adapter or Write PROtect Dongle in USB Mode.
