Both before and after a Capture session, the Solitaire Forensic™ performs a CRC calculation on both the Suspect and Target drives. During the CRC calculation, the sum of the bits in the last sector of each track is added and the final results are stored in memory. These values will be displayed on the report for each drive. The user will receive an error in the event of a mismatch.
The Solitaire Forensic™ has a parallel port; can I attach it to a host PC and capture the drive data without removing the drive from the PC?
No, the Solitaire Forensics does not support capturing images through a host PCs parallel port at this time. The parallel port on the Solitaire Forensic™ is used for printing sessions and performing software updates. Future software releases may include support for capturing images through the parallel port, please contact Logicube’s Technical Support Department or visit our web site for the latest information.
